Exploring New Directions with Morristown Painter, Monica Mangan

Monica's journey into the world of art began with a spark of curiosity and a dash of daring in 2019. Armed with just a few basic tools, a sprinkle of artistic curiosity, and a boundless visual zeal, Monica embarked on a whimsical quest for creative fulfillment.

Monica embarked on a rich creative journey during the COVID lockdown. Daily painting, driven by a determination to challenge mediocrity in pandemic isolation, led to rapid artistic development and a diverse collection of experimental pieces. Monica credits her ever-growing passion for painting to untapped emotions and creative energy that swiftly materialized on canvas, all within the tranquility of painting and a commitment to personal growth.

Monica's art captures a unique blend of abstract realism, showcasing liveliness and presence in each piece. Her use of bold color contrast and dynamic composition pushes the boundaries of classic form, creating a sense of experimentation and spontaneity.

Her passions for music, the beauty of the human form and nature as a colorful sanctuary are strongly present in her body of work. Her work is showcased at The Nook at Just Jersey and the exhibit runs until April 26.
